Red chillies are hollow, and the pith and seeds are the hottest part. Many red chillies are milder than green chillies, although there are hundreds of varieties. Chilli heat is related to capsaicin content and measured in Scoville units.
Predominantly grown in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana in the areas of Guntur, Khammam, warangal and Prakasam districts, these chillies owe their popularity to the fertile soil and proximity to the Guntur mirchi market. Known as Teja, S4 Sannam Chilli, they boast a thick red skin and a pungency of 35,000 to 40,000 SHU. We provide export quality of dried red chilli in many varieties – Teja, 341, Armoor Red Chilli.
